January 26 is recognised as India’s Republic Day and this year, the event has achieved the feat of celebrating its 76th annual ceremony. The great procession began when President Draupadi Murmu raised the national flag at Kartavya Path. ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’ is the theme for Republic Day 2025 tableaux.
At 9:00 am, the flag-raising ceremony got underway, and at 10:30 am, the parade started from Vijay Chowk and ended at the Red Fort through India Gate. At today's Republic Day celebration at Kartavya Path, the locally produced short-range tactical missile Pralay was displayed for the first time. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) created the missile to carry a nuclear payload. It is a surface-to-surface missile that can carry 500–1,000 kg of payload over a short distance.
It can go between 150 and 500 kilometres. A variety of locally produced missiles, surveillance systems, and weapon systems were on display during the grand parade in the nation's capital, demonstrating India's increasing military might.
One of the most important aspects of India's Republic Day celebrations is the march down Kartavya Path with tableaux from several states. The parade on Sunday features a marching band contingent of 352 members, with Prabowo Subianto, the president of Indonesia, as the primary guest.
